Valentines Day Crafts you can do with your child to work on building social and fine motor skills.
Valentine’s Day is fastly approaching within the week. This is the perfect time to get creative while working on fine motor skills. Grab some paper, glue, stickers, scissors and any other craft supplies you have and create some homemade cards for family and friends. While working on cutting hearts and placing stickers you can incorporate social skills into this activity.
Ask your child:
- What is kindness?
- What is friendship? What makes a good friend?
- What is a compliment?
Having an open discussion with your child can help them develop and understand these concepts and skills.
You don’t need fancy supplies and it doesn’t have to be formal. As parents, our child are always watching and learning from our actions and behaviors.
