What are Life Skills?

Life skills are the skills needed for every day life (in order to make the most out of life). Any skill that is useful in life is considered a life skill. Life skills change as we develop and age.

Life Skills Groups/Individual Sessions:

Life Skills Checklist

  • Tying Shoes
  • Putting on clothing (using zippers and buttons)
  • Getting a snack or making a light meal
  • Cleaning up a room
  • Making the bed
  • Laundry
  • Shopping at a store (comparing items, utilizing coupons and money management)
  • Basic First Aid
  • Writing a Letter and handwriting
  • Daily Organization
  • Medication management
  • Basic Money Management
  • Understanding and telling time
  • Personal grooming and hygiene
  • Exploration of hobbies and recreational activities
  • Communication (verbal and non-verbal)
  • Time management
  • Safety awareness (crossing the street, stove safety, stranger danger)
  • Social skills and manners
  • Decision making skills
  • Problem solving
  • Social Skills
  • Manners and etiquette

A group session can be done with two more individuals that have a similar goal.

50 minute session is $60

30 minute session is $40
